About Us
Mission Statement
The objectives of this society are to contribute to the dental health and welfare of the community by informing the public regarding the education, training, and experience of dentists who have limited their practices to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; to promote and encourage the advancement of the practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; to encourage the members to discharge their civic and professional responsibilities to the community; and to foster a spirit of good fellowship and mutual cooperation among its members.
Membership
Membership is limited to those individuals who are (1) active members of the American Dental Association (ADA); (2) members in good standing in the AAOMS; and (3) in the active practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within the Delaware Valley region which includes those states comprising AAOMS District II, namely: Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Benefits
DVSOMS sponsors both an annual scientific program and anesthesia update with nationally recognized speakers. Additionally, an annual general membership meeting is held, the highlight of which are presentations from the residents of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training programs affiliated with the Christiana Health Care System, Temple University, Temple University School of Dental Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, and University of Pennsylvania.
